WONKANG CO., LTD., led by CEO Tae Young Kang, recently announced the successful completion of a technical roadshow for major local construction companies in Cairo and Alexandria, Egypt.

The roadshow focused on “Understanding Gearbox Structures and Tungsten Carbide Grades for Optimizing Pick Cutter and Cutter Teeth Consumption in Civil Engineering Projects.” Representatives from Egypt’s top five construction companies, including Arab Contractors, one of the country’s largest construction companies, attended the event and showed strong interest in the technical presentations.

WONKANG representatives explained the structure and operating principles of Trench Cutter gearboxes and introduced methods for selecting the appropriate Pick Cutters and Cutter Teeth according to soil conditions and construction environments.

In particular, the company shared practical insights into differences in wear resistance and operating efficiency depending on the grade and geometry of tungsten carbide, as well as effective management methods for reducing consumable usage and overall construction costs.

Despite ongoing uncertainty in the Middle East, large-scale infrastructure projects continue to move forward in Egypt. The roadshow was organized in response to strong interest and requests from local construction companies regarding WONKANG’s technology and products. It also provided an opportunity for technical exchange, allowing participants to discuss challenges encountered at actual construction sites and explore practical solutions together.
