Wonkang Co., Ltd. (CEO Kang Tae-young) has been selected for the “Global Hidden Champion 1000+ Project” organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, earning recognition for its global competitiveness. The “Global Hidden Champion 1000+ Project” is a government initiative designed to identify and foster promising small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with strong growth potential and export competitiveness. Companies are selected through a comprehensive evaluation of their overseas market expansion capabilities and technological innovation.
Despite the recent surge in tungsten prices caused by China’s export controls on key raw materials, Wonkang Co., Ltd. secured a stable supply of raw materials through proactive investment. In addition, although challenging external conditions persist due to issues in the Middle East and other global factors, the company has continued to achieve solid results through an aggressive market diversification strategy. In particular, the company has focused on expanding into the European market, successfully establishing new business relationships and opening new markets in major European countries such as Italy, Belgium, and Austria.
Wonkang Co., Ltd. is also continuously conducting research and development related to Pick Cutters in order to improve productivity and strengthen quality competitiveness. By pursuing both process optimization and production automation technologies, the company is enhancing its manufacturing competitiveness. These efforts are generating tangible results, including improved productivity, reduced production costs, and stabilized product quality.
In particular, based on its proprietary technologies, the company is also focusing on expanding the development and supply of key components such as gearboxes and mud pumps related to the BCF9 and BCF10 for Trench Cutter equipment.
