Wonkang Co., Ltd. (CEO Tae-Young Kang), a specialized manufacturer of foundation excavation equipment components, recently announced the final registration of two patents related to pick cutter technology for roadheaders. This achievement is the result of Wonkang’s continued investment in research and development (R&D), bringing the total number of domestic patents held by the company to six. Wonkang is being recognized for enhancing product differentiation and market competitiveness through its proprietary technological capabilities.
Wonkang is also making visible strides in the area of trademark rights. To date, the company has secured a total of five trademarks—including two registered in Korea and three in India—for its core product, the “PICK CUTTER.” In particular, the trademark registrations in India serve as a strategic foundation for protecting the Wonkang brand and ensuring clear differentiation from similar products in overseas markets, where the company is actively expanding its presence.
On the production side, Wonkang continues to invest in infrastructure upgrades. The company recently introduced new equipment to its main production lines, significantly enhancing its manufacturing capacity. As a result, product quality stability and production efficiency have both improved, enabling Wonkang to deliver faster and more reliable supply to global customers, while proactively responding to a wide range of international demands.
Wonkang currently exports its products to 17 countries worldwide and independently develops and manufactures a variety of foundation drilling equipment components—including BC cutters, gearboxes, mud pumps, and cutting wheels. Building on its expertise in roadheader equipment components, the company continues to expand its product lineup, solidifying its technological leadership both domestically and internationally.
In line with the new patent registrations, Wonkang has also unveiled a renewed corporate brand logo for 2025. The new logo visually reflects the company’s identity and commitment to innovation, symbolizing Wonkang’s technology, reliability, and global aspirations, while capturing its determination for transformation and growth.

CEO Tae-Young Kang stated that the recent patent registrations and logo renewal serve as clear indicators of Wonkang’s continued growth as a technology-driven company. He added that the company will continue to strengthen both its R&D and brand strategy to deliver greater value to global customers.
Located in Magok, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, Wonkang’s Total Foundation R&D Center, led by Director Hyup Heo, serves as the company’s central hub for research and development. It has been designated a "Demand & Family Company" by the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT) and is actively engaged in joint research projects. Through this collaboration, Wonkang delivers top-quality products and services to its clients. The company currently holds six patents, two domestic trademarks, and three international trademarks under the name Wonkang Roadbit, thereby enhancing its global competitiveness. Additionally, Wonkang has established a quality management system that complies with international standards, holding ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications.
Wonkang is also making a strong impression on the international stage. It has participated in major global construction equipment exhibitions such as Bauma and Conexpo. In 2024, the company was recognized as an outstanding venture company by the Korea Venture Business Association and was selected as a member of the Bright Club, a group of leading companies representing the city of Busan. Building on these achievements, Wonkang received the USD 2 million Export Tower Award in 2023 and followed it up with the USD 3 million Export Tower Award in 2024, marking significant growth in exports.
Meanwhile, Wonkang is actively collaborating with its sister companies—Wonkang Tungsten and Eugene Erection Development Industry Co., Ltd.—to provide superior service to customers. The company plans to continue advancing its technological development and innovation, aiming to grow as a globally competitive enterprise in the years to come.
