Wonkang Co., Ltd. (CEO Kang Tae-young) announced on the 3rd that it has introduced hardfacing technology to maximize the durability and performance of its products and has officially begun providing this service to customers.
Hardfacing is a technology that welds wear-resistant alloys onto metal surfaces to minimize equipment wear and damage. It significantly extends equipment lifespan in extreme working environments such as construction, mining, and tunneling sites. Through this technological adoption, Wonkang aims to strengthen the durability of key equipment parts, including pick cutters, while helping customers reduce maintenance costs and improve operational efficiency.
In particular, Wonkang has enhanced its hardfacing solutions by simultaneously applying Fe-based TiC powder (TC) and Ni-based WC powders (Q35S·WC). TC is a high-hardness powder resistant to impact and frictional wear, making it suitable for construction and excavation equipment. Meanwhile, Q35S·WC offers excellent corrosion resistance and high-temperature stability, demonstrating outstanding performance in harsh environments such as pumps, valves, and mining facilities.
Additionally, Wonkang recently obtained CE certification for its flagship product, the gearbox, further strengthening its foundation for entering the European market. The CE mark certifies that a product meets EU standards for safety and quality, and by acquiring this certification, Wonkang has gained both technical validation and international credibility in the global market.
CEO Kang Tae-young stated, “The hardfacing service and CE certification are key achievements that elevate the competitiveness of our products. We will continue to provide optimized solutions tailored to customer needs in the field while accelerating our global market expansion.”

Located in Magok, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, Wonkang’s Total Foundation R&D Center (headed by Director Huh Yeop) is dedicated to delivering the highest quality through ongoing research and development. As a demand & family company of the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT), Wonkang is jointly engaged in R&D projects. Operating under the brand name WONKANG ROADBIT, the company has strengthened its global competitiveness by securing six patents, two domestic trademarks, three international trademarks, and certifications in ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001, establishing a quality management system that meets international standards.
Furthermore, Wonkang actively participates in numerous international construction equipment exhibitions, including BAUMA and CONEXPO. In 2024, the company was recognized as an Outstanding Venture Company by the Venture Business Association and became a member of the Busan Bright Club, representing leading companies in Busan. Building on these achievements, Wonkang received the 2 Million Dollar Export Tower Award in 2023 and the 3 Million Dollar Export Tower Award in 2024.
Through close collaboration with its affiliates, Wonkang Tungsten and Eugene Erection Development Industry Co., Ltd., the company continues to provide high-quality services. Moving forward, Wonkang is committed to continuous technological innovation and development, striving to grow into a globally competitive enterprise.
